The company originated when its two founders discovered a need in the eye-wear industry. As obvious at it may seem, most eyeglass wearers cannot see themselves clearly in the mirror without their prescription lenses. The founders quickly realized that clients with high prescriptions were directly affected.

 

With the intent of helping these clients and offering optical retailers the possibility of increasing their capture rate, Optikam was officially launched in 2006 at Vision Expo East. The show proved to be a great success thus, vindicating the need for an easier way of shopping for frames.

 

What debuted as a modest frame selector system, rapidly grew over time into a full dispensing solution. Throughout the development stages until today, Optikam was keen on listening to its customers feedback so as to grow the product. After all, who would know more about the challenges faced by dispensers on a daily basis?

 

From there, Optikam's mission was to offer dispensing kiosks that were not only staff friendly, but that would increase a practice's bottom line from day one.

 

Today, Optikam has come full circle and offers solutions for every aspect of the dispensing process. In the meantime, Optikam has landed two of the largest Optical retail chains in Canada, works with large Lens manufacturer in the US and has set up a distribution network in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

 

In the years to come, we look forward to further developing the Optikam system to help dispensers offer their clients the best shopping experience.
